What happens to a person after death? Does the spirit instantly come into existence somewhere else after the body dies? Does the person simply cease to exist? Does something else happen? The point of view dead people have on these matters is unknown, but the living tend to remember the dead in symbolic ways -- a favorite chair, a book, or even a flower from the person's grave.
Dean, a confessed murderer, walks along the cemetery road with his captor Mr. Thorpe. He slowly explains to Mr. Thorpe why he committed the murder, and why he must get a flower from the grave of the woman he killed.
