Huey Lancaster is an expert on prehistoric cliff dwellers of the American southwest. He knows all the major sites of the ancient peoples, and most of the minor ones. There's one site he came upon six years ago that he'd been seeking for many years before that: Mesa Encantada.
Huey explores the mesa despite having been warned of a danger there. His guide refuses to go, and sets out to escape the place. Huey presses on, ignoring warnings, and soon discovers why he shouldn't have.
