I like Austin. Plenty of hills. After a hundred miles of desert, it feels like a real city despite the population of 113.

Following a bit of the Kit Carson trail around downtown Carson City.

My favorite town on the route. Looming mountains, quaint old buildings, nice art on the walls, a good park with a disc golf course, a train running through, and yet not too big.

Really should've toured the Eureka Sentinal Museum and Opera House, but didn't feel up to it. Nonetheless, I could tell Eureka has some character.

Well, largely Grimes Point which is a few miles east of Fallon.

Best petroglyph site I've seen, exceeded expectations and outclasses Grimes Point.

A free campground right on 50 with great views, a central pond, covered picnic tables for every site, and 2 miles of trails.
