I also reprocessed the file to try to improve it. Tried to get through to the mail section but every time I log in the fields just go blank again so until I can figure this out the fix will be posted at www.telusplanet.net/public/synthi for the next week or two so you can compare it with the original attempt. I will also try to mail you my email address if I can get that far. Cheers!

Sent you an email...

De-noised versions of Nothing Behind The Door, I Have Been Looking For You, Wear The Dead Man's Coat, and We Were Here First have been completed now and I will try to upload them via FTP tomorrow. The judgement calls between maintaining the original sound and yet reducing the severe audio damage have been nothing short of brutal. I love this series and don't want to compromise the integrity of the episodes but a lot of them are downright unlistenable the way they are. Will try to do more episodes soon. Terry.

I got ambitious and uploaded them tonight instead of tomorrow although I didn't think I would be able to manage after ten beers. Compare the results closely with the originals and hopefully you'll find the results more listenable overall. We Were Here First was especially difficult. I kept going back to the original to see if the noise reduction software was causing some of the speed-ups, slow-downs, drop-outs and other anomalies but I kept finding they were there to begin with. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear but maybe you can make a denim purse. Thanks again for the raw material and the opportunity to do something with it, Paul. Terry.

Thanks, I've got them tranfered so that they're downloadable now. Considering it's confusing when the same episodes are being listed again in the progress updates thread, I'll start a new thread with links to the episodes you've cleaned up...
